Jin Ding, co-director of AAJA Women & Non-Binary Voices, will moderate a Q&A with Corinne, starting with questions about her recent work on migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border, her journey in journalism and her inclusion works with the Seattle Times. Then we’ll open up to questions from the audience.

Corinne Chin is a Senior Video Journalist at The Seattle Times and the founder and leader of the newsroom’s Diversity & Inclusion Task Force. As a storyteller, she focuses on in-depth video stories about underrepresented communities, such as Under Our Skin, an award-winning interactive documentary exploring the words we use – and misuse – to talk about race. She is currently working on several visual projects on immigration as a 2019 International Women’s Media Foundation Reporting Fellow and a Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting grantee. Her work has also been recognized by the NPPA’s Best of Photojournalism awards, the Radio Television Digital News Association (National Murrow Awards), the Online News Association, Pictures of the Year International and more. Corinne is a graduate of the Poynter Leadership Academy for Women in Digital Media, the Poynter-NABJ Leadership Academy for Diversity in Digital Media and the ASNE Emerging Leaders Institute. Outside the newsroom, she promotes diversity in journalism as the president of the Seattle chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association, and she is a frequent speaker on diversity, equity and inclusion at conferences and community events nationwide.
Jin Ding is a program manager for grants and awards at the International Women’s Media Foundation. Jin co-directs Asian American Journalists Association’s Women & Non-Binary Voices affiliate group. She’s also a founding member of Chinese Storytellers, a collective empowers Chinese non-fiction content creators.
