AAJA National offers the following programs for students:Scholarships
Every year, AAJA offers scholarships to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students. Awards range from $1,000 to $25,000. Students are selected based on the following criteria: commitment to the field of journalism; sensitivity to Asian American and Pacific Islander issues; journalistic ability; scholastic ability; and financial need. Since its inception, AAJA has awarded more than $1.2 million in scholarships and internships to more than 500 students pursuing a career in journalism. Internships
AAJA internships provide opportunities and grants to students pursuing journalism careers. AAJA currently offers the Stanford Chen Internship Grant, AAJA/Chicago Tribune Print and New Media Internship Grant, and the AAJA Internship Grant for Broadcast. The AAJA Internship Grant for Broadcast is for interns who have already secured an internship and need additional support. J Camp
A one-of-a-kind student campus that brings together a multicultural group of high school students to sharpen their journalism skills, learn how their cultural values impact their professional development and work together in a unique learning environment. UNITY Student Projects
Students from across the nation will participate in week-long projects at the UNITY 2008 convention in Chicago, IL, July 23-27, 2008. Dozens of aspiring journalists will work side by side with professionals and mentors to produce solid and innovative journalism across media platforms in a more integrated "convergence" newsroom.
