AAJA membership is based on the calendar year, January to December, regardless of when dues are received.

AAJA has been in existence for 25 years as a non-profit professional and educational organization with approximately 2,000 members today. AAJA encourages Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) to enter the ranks of journalism, works for fair and accurate coverage of AAPIs, and promotes increasing the number of AAPI journalists and news managers in the industry.
