On May 12th, swing by the AAJA-NY booth at the CAPA Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Festival, in Dumbo, Brooklyn. We have a fantastic line-up of AAJA authors and photographers. Authors will be selling and signing their books. And veteran photographers will be showcasing and selling various works. AAJA’s very own Bea Hundal, CeFaan Kim, Ti-Hua Chang and Michelle Yu will also be emceeing the event throughout the day. So come on out and support your fellow journalists!
Our goal and theme for this year is to showcase our AAJA-NY talent.
WHAT: 33rd Annual CAPA Heritage Festival
WHEN: This Saturday May 12th, 11am-6pm
WHERE: Dumbo, Brooklyn (Water St. & Anchorage Pl., Brooklyn, NY 10038)
12-2pm: Filmmaker Jennifer Takaki will discuss upcoming documentary on the unparalleled veteran photographer and AAJA member Corky Lee Photographic Justice: The Corky Lee Story.
12-1pm: Managing Editor at Barrons.com, funnyman and writer Ed Lin will sign copies of his compelling mystery books.
2-4pm: Intrepid SNY anchor/reporter (and fellow convention co-chair) Michelle Yu and co-author Blossom Kan will sign copies of their popular book, Young, Restless & Broke and China Dolls.
4-6pm: Award-winning photographer Karen Zhou will showcase her vast collections and maybe share a couple trade secrets on how to get that killer shot!
