Need to spruce up your Linkedin profile? Improve your presence on the web to boast up that Klout score? Or maybe you need a new headshot for your profile. Then you should check out AAJA-NY’s pre-convention social media workshop.

Details are forthcoming, but here’s a preview of what to expect:

Who: AAJA members and any other journalists interested in brushing up their social media properties — attendance will be capped at 30 people

When: July 31, 5:30-9 p.m.

Where: The New York Times building

What:
– A LinkedIn for Journalists conference call that will spruce up your own profile, giving you one year’s worth of FREE pro access to LinkedIn – hosted by Yumi Wilson, corporate communications manager at LinkedIn
– A how-to on crafting an ideal social media presence as a journalist, with Q&A – by Sona Patel, New York Times social media editor
– Professional headshots – by Corky Lee and Anthony Alvarez

Cost: FREE for AAJA members, $15 for non-members
