AAJA-NY’s Trivia Bowl returns after a successful debut last year. It was a fun evening of teams — from journalists to community groups — duking it out for the title. This year we’ll have more individual tickets for sale (details forthcoming). The proceeds benefit our chapter. Read more about last year’s event here.
We’ll also need volunteers. If you’re interested, e-mail Leezel Tanglao (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Bao Ong (email@example.com).
Here are some additional details:
What: Asian American Journalists Association New York chapter’s second annual Trivia Bowl fundraiser
Where: Broadstreet Ballroom, 41 Broad Street (between Beaver Street and Exchange Place)
When: Thursday, May 16, 2013, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. (free dinner and drinks)
Why: Event proceeds go toward supporting chapter operations including supporting students who pursue the journalism profession; providing increased training to AAPI journalists so they can be effective leaders for positive change in the industry with a commitment to diversity in the newsroom, and forging stronger ties within the AAPI communities ….and it’s also a fun way to network!
