Hey Fellow AAJA Members,
UNITY will be held August 1st-4th at The Mandalay Bay Resort & Convention Center in Las Vegas. Every year AAJA-NY gives out $2,000 in scholarships/stipends for the UNITY conference. If you are interested, there are two different options for scholarships and stipends.
1) Student Scholarship
a) giving away 2 registrations + $262 stipend each
2) Professional Stipend for unemployed/freelance journalists
a) 2 registrations + $262 stipend each
If you are interested, applications are due by Monday, April 23rd at 5 p.m.
What is required to apply:
a) A 400-word essay on “What you hope to gain by attending the UNITY convention? How convention attendance can assist in your student life or professional career?”
c) Provide a resume and a short 40-word biography
d) List various AAJA events you’ve volunteered for
e) Must be a current AAJA member.
*If chosen to receive a scholarship/stipend, you will be required to volunteer during UNITY and AAJA-NY events.
