Meet a member: Shirley Lew

Shirley graduated from Hunter College in New York City and received her degree in Media Communications and Political Science.  Her studies focused on broadcast journalism and international politics.

Her work experience includes working at CBS-TV in New York as a marketing assistant and as a weekend news desk assistant on “CBS Sunday Morning”, and “Face The Nation”.

Shirley is now the host and reporter for MTTN-TV, Manalapan Township Television Network, a local government cable access channel.  She is also the producer of “School Talk”, a talk program on school district news and issues.  Last year, she was appointed by her township to serve a three-year term on the Cable Television Advisory Committee.

This year, Shirley joined the team of contributing reporters for “OurChinatown”, a hyper-local blog on New York City’s Chinatown.

Shirley was born and raised in New York City’s Chinatown and is a four time marathon finisher.  She is an outdoor enthusiast and loves a good competitive volleyball game.  She has also worked in a variety of theatrical films, television and print work.
